AIjia is not always listening and not always recording. Its wake word lives on the chip inside the pillow itself. So until you say AIjia, the pillow is resting and nothing leaves it. When you call its name, it wakes and connects so it can hear you, and when you finish, it rests again. In other words, you are always the one who starts the conversation. There is also a physical switch that turns the microphone off entirely, so listening can be disabled by hand, and AIjia responds only when you wake it.

They stay in the West. Conversations are processed and stored on secure servers in the United States and Europe, with careful backups. Your words are kept close to home.
